2:00pm - 3:00pm
Join Ranger Daniel at Taylor-Mesilla Historic site to learn about the territorial disputes and political debates that shaped the U.S.-Mexico border during the era of the Gadsden Treaty. Signed in Mexico City in 1853 and ratified by Congress in 1854, the international agreement resulted in the exchange of nearly thirty thousand square miles of land, incorporated the lower Mesilla Valley as part of the Territory of New Mexico, and integrated the Mexican residents as citizens of the United States. Tickets are $10/adults, free for children 16 years and under. Please call 575-202-1638 for more information.
