Billy the Kid Died Here (Plaque)
Billy the Kid was shot and killed here in the Maxwell House. The famous outlaw's death made the papers throughout the West, The New York Times and the London Telegraph. The town that hosted much of Billy the Kid's notorious career and the Lincoln County War is just south at Lincoln State Monument.
