The rocks on the Navajo Travel Shrine were first carried here from the Navajo Reservation in February 1971, in commemoration of Navajo people who were exiled and died here from 1863 to 1868. Navajo visitors continue to bring rocks and other spiritual objects here. Objects on the shrine are left in prayer. Please do not touch or otherwise disturb the shrine. Thank you.
