A predator seen often at Bosque Redondo is the coyote. Coyotes have been observed at the site even during the time of the reservation.  During which time, the animal played a large role in a Diné ceremony called Coyoteway.  Through this ceremony, performed at the Bosque Redondo Indian Reservation, the coyote was an integral part that helped determine the fate of the Diné. Which way the coyote ran would tell the tribe where they would be going, whether it was back home or somewhere else. Ultimately, the coyote ran towards their homelands. Additionally, the coyote is viewed a mischief maker in stories taught to both Diné and Ndé children as valuable life lessons.
