Dawn ’Til Dusk at Los Luceros

Enjoy extended hours at Los Luceros Historic Site from sunrise to sunset on the first Sunday of each month.
Take a guided bird walk with staff from the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) at 7 a.m. Sign-up ahead of time online at https://peecnature.org/events/.
At 11:30 a.m. Interpretive Ranger Kara will offer Read with a Ranger story time, reading the children’s book The Cottonwood Tree by Serena Mangus. This story tells about the lifecycle and legacy of cottonwood trees, which are found throughout Los Luceros. Story time takes place in the Community Room and is followed by a kids’ craft ending by 12:30 p.m.
Visitors are free to explore the historic buildings, nature trails, and farm animals. Los Luceros offers a unique opportunity for people to explore and enjoy the site from dawn until dusk on the first Sunday of each month. Entrance is free for New Mexico residents with ID. Regular admission for non-residents is $7/adult and free to children 16 and younger.
