Campfire Kitchen: Horno Workshop
At Fort Selden Historic Site
10/26/24, Saturday
10:00am - 11:00am
Come out to Fort Selden and learn about adobe horno (outdoor oven) restoration and preservation. Site staff, with help from horno expert Dave Harkness, will be combating the effects of time and weather on the horno, restoring it to its former glory. This event will showcase that work and explain why preservation and restoration are important at Fort Selden. This workshop will help get our horno ready for future cooking events, like our Thanksgiving horno bread workshop on Nov. 23rd!
Demonstration and ranger interaction is included as part of general admission of $5/adult, and free for children 16 years and younger. Call 575-526-8911 for more information.
