The Friends of Coronado-Jemez Historic Site and New Mexico Historic Sites present "Fiesta of Cultures: All Cultures of New Mexico" featuring more than 40 vendors representing the many cultures which make New Mexico an enchanting place to live. Participants can enjoy performances, artist demonstrations, facepainting, live animals, a community ofrenda/offering display, and food trucks!

Fiesta of Cultures is open to the public and admission is $10 per person and free to children 16 and younger, Museum of New Mexico Foundation members, Friends of Coronado and Jemez members, Native/Tribal affiliations, disabled veterans, and foster families. Tickets are available for purchase online.

Sponsored by the Friends of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites, Museum of New Mexico Foundation, and Santa Ana Star Casino & Hotel. Artist demonstration sponsored by The Wilde Bunch. Entertainment:

11 a.m. - 12 p.m.: The Wilde Bunch Square Dancers

11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.: Pueblo Enchantment Dancers from Acoma Pueblo

12:30 - 1:15 p.m.: Van Hanh (Vietnamese) Lion Dancers

2:30 - 4:30 p.m.: Son Como Son (Cuban Salsa music)

Animal Demonstrators:

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Llama del Sol (llama rescue & trekking)

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. On a Wing and a Prayer bird rescue

Community Ofrenda/Offering

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Dr. Mariana Sabino discusses ofrendas (offerings), their cultural significance, and their evolution over time. Visitors will have the opportunity to help create a tapete (carpet), a decorative element found in many ofrendas in Mexico. Bring a picture of a loved one to add to the ofrenda, which will be on display through Nov. 3, 2024. 

Kiva Tours:

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Every hour on the hour, visitors can tour the Kiva with a knowledgeable, friendly docent from the Friends of Coronado and Jemez group. First come, first served. Max 20 people per hourly tour. This involves going up and down two ladders. Closed toe shoes recommended.

Facepainting and Henna Body Painting:

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Local Locas Facepainting will offer fun facepainting designs, as well as henna body painting.

Vendors and Food Trucks:

10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This year’s Fiesta offers a juried show of local vendors who specialize in arts, crafts, jewelry making and more. With a diversity of vendors representing “All the Cultures of New Mexico” there is something for everyone, gifts for yourself or a loved one. Food trucks will be available all day in the parking lot, come enjoy tasty fare from local favorites.
