Dawn ’Til Dusk

At Los Luceros Historic Site
12/1/24, Sunday
7:00am - 5:00pm

Los Luceros Historic Site

Los Luceros Historic Site offers extended hours from sunrise to sunset on the first Sunday of each month. This is a great time of year for visitors to see wintering birds including sandhill cranes, bald eagles, magpies, red-tailed hawks, mourning doves, ravens, crows, juncos, and various species of finches. Guests can also explore the visitor center, capilla (chapel), Victorian cottage, guesthouse, and farmyard. Trails meander around the landscape and to the Rio Grande. The site will offer a paper crane puppet-making activity for all ages to enjoy. Join Ranger Kara at 10 a.m. for a story time in the community room. She will read "Snowmen at Night" by Caralyn Buehner and share with kids what those silly snowy folk are getting up to while we’re all asleep. All ages are welcome. Children must have a guardian present.

Los Luceros offers a unique opportunity for people to explore and enjoy the site from dawn until dusk on the first Sunday of each month. Entrance is free for New Mexico residents with ID. Regular admission for non-residents is $7/adult and free to children 16 and younger.
