The Memorial is home to an average of 30 Churro Sheep and sometimes upwards of 50 during lambing season. Each fall, Site Staff, with the help of professionals, process wool fleeces to prepare it for use for weaving classes or for interpretive purposes. During this time, visitors will have a chance to observe the process that the site wool undergoes to become a useable textile. Demonstrations will include skirting, cleaning, carding, spinning, and weaving. Demonstrations can be observed in the Memorial Resource Room and is included in general admission.
